Betty Joe Perkins, age 91, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at The Heritage Nursing Home.
She was born May 20, 1926 in Loyal, to the late Kelsey and Minnie (Criscillis) Perkins. She was a long-time active member of First Christian Church in Corbin.
Betty retired after serving 37 years as the City Clerk of Corbin. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Foundation, the Christian Women's Fellowship club and the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association. Betty was also a graduate of Union College.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry "Zeke" Perkins and Donald Wayne Perkins, and one sister, Billie June Perkins.
She is survived by her niece Jodie Lee Perkins, two nephews Jerry Perkins and wife Sandy, and Kyle Perkins, and a sister-in-law Arlene Perkins Lynch, all of Corbin, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at the O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Loyal, KY on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at 10 a.m. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at the O'Neil -Lawson Funeral Home.
