Cecil P. McFarland, age 96, of Corbin, passed away on Monday Nov. 27, 2017, at Christian Care Communities in Corbin.
She was born in Whitley County to the late, Charles Hubbs and Maude Bunch Hubbs Hayes. Cecil was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and loved to garden, cook and feed people. She was a selfless Christian who loved and lived for the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie McFarland; Son, James McFarland; grandchildren, Jason "Tank" McFarland and Frank Ross; great-granddaughter, Amanda Bearden; and by seven Siblings.
Cecil is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Ross Floyd and Helen Hosey; grandchildren; Tabatha McFarland Harrell (Terry), Susan Young (Tom), Anthony McFarland (Saundra), Andrea Ross Hammons (Sam), Troy Ross, Mark McFarland (Angela), and Jay J.J. Hosey (Amy); 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and by a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services for Cecil McFarland will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 30, 2017 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herschel Walker and the Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin.
