Kermit "Buddy" Coffey, age 87, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at his home.
He was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Okineta, Virginia to the late William and Pearl Burgan Coffey.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Foley and by two brothers.
He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #490. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife Galena Coffey of Williamsburg; one son, Bruce Coffey of Denellon, Florida; two grandchildren, Kristy Creekmore (Chris) of Williamsburg, and Mandy Baker of Ocala, Florida; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Creekmore, Gunnar Creekmore and Aislynn Baker; one sister, Jean Black of Florence; two brothers, Fred Coffey of Cincinnati, Ohio and Charles Coffey of Louisville; several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Ellison Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Lowrie and the Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick officiating. Interment will be in the Ida Bennett Croley Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until funeral hour at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. by Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #490.
