Maggie Emily Hopkins, age 93, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at her home.
She was a homemaker who loved to read her Bible, working on puzzle books and planting flowers. Maggie was a wonderful cook who loved caring for others especially her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hopkins, Sr.; parents, William and Cindy Bruner Hatcher; son, Earl Hammock; brothers, Dave and Clyde Hatcher; and by a sister, Sarah Bruner.
Maggie is survived by 11 children, Ruby Jackson, Edith Lawson, Betty Marshall, Bertie Martin, Charles Hammack, Donnie Hammack, Faye Hall, Judy Gray, Rick Hopkins, Erma Parker and Eugene Hopkins; 34 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren, and 47 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Elliott and the Rev. Billy Evans officiating.
Burial will follow in the Norvell Cemetery in Laurel County.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 19, from 6-9 p.m. at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com.
