Thelma's Story

Thelma Jean Croley Hammons, 73, of Chicago, Illinois, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at the Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago.
Thelma was born Sept. 14, 1943 in Packard, Kentucky to the late Ben E. Croley and Mossie Manning Croley. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Rev. George Croley, Jake Croley and John Croley and sisters, Lois Croley Wilson and Ivah Loraine Croley.
She is survived by her loving husband Wendell Keith Hammon,s of Chicago; sisters, Maxine Bundy, of Williamsburg, Mildred Croley of Chicago, and Joyce Charles (Eddie) of Dayton; brother, Bill T. Croley, of Williamsburg; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Maynard officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery in Williamsburg.
