Vina (Vinie) Croley Jones, age 93, of Roosevelt Street, Corbin, departed this life on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the Heritage Health and Rehab Center in Corbin. She was born on Dec. 30, 1923, in Whitley County, to the late Sam Croley and Bessie (Bray) Croley.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Jones and a son, Willard (Blue) Jones. Vinie was a member of Piney Chapel Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Thelma Mendler and her late husband Ron of Gainesville, Georgia and Retha Akins and husband Irvin of Corbin; two sons, Jessie Jones and wife Vivian of Jonestown, Kentucky and Ellis Jones and wife Linda of Corbin; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Gwen, Martha, June and Selena: brother, Walter Croley and his wife Beulah of Ingram, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Joan Jones of Oneida, Tennessee;several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Moreland and James Hodge officiating. Following the Service she will be laid to rest in the Croley Cemetery.
