He was born on November 3, 1940, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to the late Roscoe Wilson and Orena (Large) Wilson.
Wendell was a deacon at Briar Creek Baptist Church, a choir member and a veteran of the United States Army. Wendell was a master plumber who owned and operated his own business for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rose (Taylor) Wilson of Corbin; two daughters, Angela Douglas of Corbin and Pamela Clark (Jeff) of Stearns; four grandchildren, Colby Wilson, Dylan Clark, Matthew Douglas and Cole Clark; two great granddaughters, Lucy and Claire Wilson; brother, Charles Wilson (Carolyn) of Williamsburg; three sisters, Eleanor Monhollen of New Carlisle, Ohio, Betty McKee (Scott) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Judy Durbin (Eddie) of Corbin; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Mitchell and Bro. Michael Wilson officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Slusher Cemetery.
