Cassie Junis Prewitt, age 95, of Prewitt Bend Road, Williamsburg, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at home. She was born on Aug. 12, 1921, in Whitley County, to the late Charlie Richardson and Sarah White.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Sarah Richardson; husband, Herman Charles Prewitt; son, Charles Herman Prewitt; brothers, Linville Richardson, Rannie Richardson, Paul Richardson, and Roy Richardson; sister, Betty Green; and two infant sisters. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Wayne Prewitt (wife Sharon), of Williamsburg, Phillip Prewitt (wife Janice), of Williamsburg, and Kathy Croley (husband Melvin), of Park City; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Prewitt, Sheila Sutton (Jerrod), Phillip Prewitt Jr. (Ann), Steven Prewitt (Amanda), Tim Prewitt (Kristen), Lorie Bunch (Doug), Melanie Reed (Jeff), Beth Maples (Josh), and Brian Croley (Lessa); 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Cox and Wilma Richardson, of Williamsburg; two brothers, Lake Richardson and Bill Richardson, of Williamsburg; special thanks to caregivers, Tracy Brooks and Mary West; many nieces and nephews; and host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Croley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Jones and the Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Piney Grove Cemetery on Prewitt Bend. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
