Eddie's Story

Text size

Eddie Nash, 51, passed peacefully from this life to the next on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his home.
He was a son of the late Fred and Mildred Nash and beloved son-in-law of Ronnie and Betty Jones.
He was a devoted husband to Cindy Nash through their blessed marriage of nearly 15 years. He was a wonderful and doting father to his five children, Roxanne Doane, Brigetta and Bryan Crawford, Richard and Dawn Doane, Paige and Coleman Hughes, and Jacob Nash. A son, Tyler Nash and brother, Jimmy Nash, preceded him in death. Eddie was a loving Papaw to Stella and Drakken. His love was also shared by his beloved dog Todd along with other pets and animals.
Eddie was a loving brother to Vickie and Larry Greene, Freddie and Sheri Nash, Bill and Evelyn Nash, Donna Nash, Dale and Sondra Nash, Jeff and Bobbi Jones, and Jennifer and Bebo Bruner, and a much loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
He was known for his ability to fix anything and was unwavering in his love and support for his family and friends. He graduated from Corbin High School and worked many years as an insurance agent. A faithful follower of Christ, he belonged to The Creek Church of London, where he volunteered.
Eddie enjoyed many hobbies but fishing was his love. He was a boat captain for the Corbin High School Fishing Team.
His love will be irreplaceable. "It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." (I Corinthians 13:7-8)
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Vernon Morris and the Rev. Ron Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Nash Family Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions to a scholarship for the CHS Fishing Team in Eddie's honor. Contact 606-515-3053 for information.
