Rev. Eldon Robert Hays, age 81, of New Mt. Zion Church Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at the home of his daughter. He was born on Oct. 23, 1935, in McKee, to the late Thomas Hays and Ruby (Brumback) Hays. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Mason Hays.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sinda Hays of Williamsburg; daughter, Debbie Hodge (Lawrence) of Williamsburg; son, Alan Hays (Marlene) of Williamsburg; three grandsons, Robbie Hodge (Dena), Jody Hays (Sarah) and Ben Hodge; six great-grandchildren, Evan Hodge, Wyatt Hodge, Cameron Hays, Lincoln Hays, Hannah Hodge and Kensie Hodge; brother, Fred Hays of McKee; sister, Sadie Smith of Connersville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Lester, the Rev. Roger Stanley and theRev. Lowell Huddleston officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Whitley Memorial Gardens.
