Everett Bishop, age 72, of Beattyville, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1944, in Whitley County to the late Samuel Harley Bishop and the late Goldie Rader Bishop. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Mahan Bishop.
He is survived by one daughter Leslie Benson (Brian), of Beattyville; two sons Everett Dewayne Bishop, of Burlington, North Carolina, and Rodney Bishop (Martha), of Beattyville; five grandchildren Maggie, Clara, John, Kaliegh and Cayden; two sisters Pearl Miles and Shirley Jackson; one brother Benjamin Bishop, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Goins Cemetery on Harps Creek.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at the funeral home.
