Jamie Andrew McCoy, 39, of Winchester, formerly of Corbin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, in Lexington.
Jamie was born Sept. 26, 1977, in Lexington to the late Sam McCoy and Glenda McCoy Newsome. Jamie graduated from Corbin High School, class of 1997, and worked for Meijer Stores in Lexington and Richmond for over 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam McCoy; grandparents: Bob and Elizabeth Siler and Eva Smith; and three special aunts: Colleen Turner, Dalphene Naegele and Evelyn Kinman.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Leigh McCoy; son, Joshua Aaron McCoy, both of Winchester; his parents, Glenda and Terry Newsome, of Corbin; his brother, Samuel McCoy (Barbara), of Corbin; brother-in-law, Roger Hutton (Tiffani) of Gray; four nephews: Tyler McCoy (Stephanie), of London, Jacob McCoy, of Corbin, and Braxton Hubbs and Mason Hutton, of Gray; in-laws, Roger and Maxine Hutton, of Gray, and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin with the Rev. Brian Reeder and the Rev. Dan Watkins officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Hutton, Tyler McCoy, Jacob McCoy, Raymond Wilson, Braxton Hubbs and Billy Moberly. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Stidham, Gail Stidham, Angie Casey, Laura Moberly, Billy Barnett and Dallas Hutton. Interment will follow in the Helton Cemetery, Gray, KY. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
