Jay C. Johnson Jr., 68, of Corbin, departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Baptist Health Corbin. He was born March 27, 1948, in Richlands, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jay and Lola Johnson, and two sisters: Carol Sue Johnson and Shirley Ann James.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Lawannia Yonce Johnson; one son: Jeremy Johnson; two stepdaughters: Sonja Scalf (James) and Brandi Wyatt (Kendel Taylor); several grandchildren; four brothers: Donnie, Danny, Jimmy, and Bobby; three sisters: Nanci, Sandy, and Betty; and a special aunt: Norma Jean Williams, as well as other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delmon Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Johnson, Danny Johnson, Cody McQueen, James Scalf, Kendel Taylor, Corey Steele, and Lawannia Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are W.L. Campbell, Jacob Scalf, Ronald Dye, and Freddie Jones.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
