Mrs. Mildred O. Jones, 67, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, May 28, 2017 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Solomon Taylor Jr. and Opal Engle Taylor born on June 10, 1949 in Knox County.
Mildred was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed tending flowers and cooking.
On June 20, 1965, she united in marriage with Clifford Eagle, who preceded her in death. Later on Sept. 21, 1990, she united in marriage with Gerald O. Jones.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Taylor.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gerald Jones of Barbourville; four children, Sheyla Felts and husband, Jerry, and Clifford Wayne Eagle Jr. and wife, Melanie, Sherri Denise French and Dale Allen Jones all of Corbin; three sisters, Maudie Helton and husband, Jimmy, of Barbourville, Lavern Sharp of Gray and Sharon Campbell and husband, Randall, of Gray; a special sister-in-law, Georgia Travis of Frankfort; a special brother-in-law, Roy L. Eagle of Gray; six grandchildren, Jessica Perez and husband, Matthew, Jared Felts, Jason French, Kurtis Rapier, Brandi Rapier and Kris Jones; two great grandchildren, Jackson Perez and Malachi Jones; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, June 1 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Garrett Garland officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Taylor Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Chris Felts, Jerry Felts, Jared Felts, Wayne Eagle, Matthew Perez and Mark Helton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday between 6-9 p.m. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
