Ray Lawson, age 65, of Skaggs Branch Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1951, in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Cody Bill Lawson and Opal Marie (Bennett) Lawson.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Geneva "Doll" Lawson and brothers, Eugene "Jailer" Lawson, Orie "Cat" Lawson and Jimmy "Bodine" Lawson. Ray attended High Cliff Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Ray Lawson and wife Heather of Williamsburg, Kevin Lawson and wife Adrian of Williamsburg and Joshua Ray Taylor; six grandchildren, Jordan Dowdy, Brandon Claxton, Cody Ryan Lawson, Luke Allen Woods, River Lawson and Mason Eli Taylor; special friend Angela Johnson and her children, Paige Wilson, Payton Wilson and Ricky Dudney; sister, Eula Daugherty of Williamsburg; brothers, Elbert "Sack" Lawson, Arthur "Art" Lawson, Olan Lawson, Floyd "Judge" Lawson and Danny Lawson, all of Williamsburg: and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Rose and the Rev. Lowell Huddleston officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Lawson Family Cemetery at Fairview.
