Aloah Diane Vanderpool, age 76 of Monroe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio.

Aloah was born on March 8, 1945 in Kokomo, Indiana. She was one of three children born to the late Hobert and Jeweldine (Canady) Dodd.

On December 27, 1963, Aloah married the love of her life, Simon Vanderpool, at Macedonia Christian Church in Kokomo, Indiana. They raised a family of two children and spent over 57 wonderful years together. Aloah chose to devote her life to her family, in which she took great pride.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. In her spare time, Aloah enjoyed gardening, nature, especially birds and butterflies, and painting. After discovering Genealogy, Aloah found she loved it and spent many hours exploring her family heritage.

To cherish her memory, Aloah leaves her loving husband, Simon; children: Simon Michael Vanderpool of Corbin, Kentucky and Cheryl (Don) Duncan of Monore, Michigan; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Along with her parents Aloah is preceded in death by her sisters: Patricia Mast and Vickie Foust.

There will be a visitation on August 19, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, Michigan from 2-5 p.m.

A second visitation will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021, 2:00 pm. to 5:00 pm. at the O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home chapel.

Funeral services will be help Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Canadatown Church of God at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Canada officiating. Following the services she will be laid to rest in the Canadatown Church of God Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Aloah's honor may be made to ProMedica Hospice.
