Ambrose "Sonny" Parks, Jr, age 84 formerly of Corbin and London, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
He was born February 5, 1938 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Ambrose Burt Parks, Sr. and Roxie Lee Martin Parks. He worked for the Whayne Supply Company as a Mechanic for over 30 years.
Along with his mother and father; he is also preceded in death by one brother; Bobby Parks and three sisters; Doris Smith, Nellie Tackett and Marie Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Elma Jo Price Parks of Campbellsville, Kentucky and three children; Sharon Parks Mabbett (Keith), Karen Parks Ackinson (Jim) Both of Englewood, Florida and Jeffrey Scott Parks ( Christy) of Campbellsville, Kentucky. He is also survived by two sisters; Linda Gail Sizemore Delmon of Keavy, Kentucky and Margie Seal of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Alex Lancaster (Rachel), Ryan Lancaster, Matt Jones (Lindsey), Kaitlin Jones (Kortu Diafor), Cooper Parks and Tanner Parks. He's also survived by four great grandchildren; Lydia Jones, Deacon Jones, Alton Jones and Lila Jones.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 27, 2023 at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky with Rev. Delmon Sizemore officiating with burial following at the Highland Park Cemetery Ellison addition in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Visitation will be 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday, January 27, 2023 at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Corbin, Kentucky.
