Arneeda (Cummins) Humphress, of Lake City, Florida (formerly of Corbin, KY), at the spritely young age of 94 received her angel wings on September 18, 2020. A private memorial service was held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, KY to honor her life.

Arneeda cherished her family and friends and was blessed to be a great-great grandmother. She had the unique ability to make each person in her life believe that they were her favorite. Her zest for life, love, laughter and adventure was infectious to all who had the privilege of sharing time with her. She had an immense knowledge matched with her incredible wit, that when paired together would turn an otherwise ordinary event into a masterful tale that you could not wait to hear.

She was married to retired MSGT. Howard Humphress, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1978. As a military wife, his career took them all over the US as they raised their four sons. She took this opportunity to make life-long friends at each stop along the way. She loved to travel visiting all 50 states and spent time in multiple other countries.

Her interests included volunteering at the Lake City First United Methodist Church and combing through flea markets and yard sales for the best deals. She was an avid card player, worked crossword puzzles in ink, enjoyed reading, and was a serious collector of anything and everything. She also found great joy in caring for her furry friends, Poss and Cattun.

Arneeda is survived by her sister, Margaret June Hopkins; sister-in-law Jean Cummins (Paul); three sons and their spouses, Mike and Brenda Humphress, Lt. Col. Patrick Humphress, Jon Allen and Susan Humphress; her daughter-in-law Sue Humphress (Paul); 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie (Susong) Cummins; her father, Fred Cummins; her husband, MSGT. Howard Humphress; her son, Sn. MSGT. Paul S. Humphress; her brother, MSGT. Paul Cummins; and her granddaughters, Lyn Humphress and Allison Watford.
