Bill Edward Hensley Jr. passed away Friday, February 21, 2025.

Born in Corbin, Kentucky, Bill lived his life with a resilient spirit and a heart full of kindness that touched everyone he met. His life exemplified his motto, "Always be humble and kind."

Bill was a self-employed carpenter, and his life was a testimony of hard work, humility, and kindness, reflecting his deeply ingrained belief in the dignity of labor and the nobility of character. His skill was not limited to his carpentry, as his love for traveling and exploring flea markets often led him to discover hidden treasures, each with a story that added to the rich tapestry of his own life.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bill Edward Hensley Sr.

He is survived by his mother, June Leger Carpenter; daughters, Shanda Sandoval (Xavier) of Cummings, GA, and Sarah Hensley of Corbin; grandchildren, Xander and Miles Sandoval of Cummings, GA, and Samarah Hensely of Corbin; and by his siblings, Jim Davis (Donna) of Corbin; Jerry Hensley (Nicole) of Spartanburg, SC, and Carol Green (Robert) of Salem, IN.

Visitation for Bill will be held from 1 - 3 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday with Rev. Greg McClain officiating.
