Corbin - Erma Dene Sutton, 84, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025.

She was born on May 26, 1940 on Goldens Creek, Erma was a pillar of strength and love for her family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand or share an encouraging word.

Her two sons, Michael Dewayne Sutton of Corbin, KY and William Timothy Sutton of Corbin, KY, were the pride of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

She was owner and operator of the Sutton Quik Wash for over 50 years and active until her sickness.

Throughout her life, Erma was dedicated not only to her immediate family but also to her many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends. Her love was not limited to them alone; she extended her nurturing spirit to everyone she encountered in her life.

Her grandchildren - James Sutton III, Nikita Sutton, Jesse Sutton, Jessica Derose, William Sutton, Ashley West, Rachael Sutton, Warren Sutton, Thomas Sutton and Danielle Higginbotham - all benefitted from her caring nature and wisdom.

Her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Higginbotham, Eli Higginbotham, Alyison West, Judith West, Lucas Derose, Amelia Sutton and Hudson Sutton were also recipients of her boundless affection.

She also leaves behind five sister(s); Yvonne Maiden of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, Sandra Cox of Corbin, KY. Cathy Hubert of Lafayette, GA. Janice Mays of Barbourville, KY. and Shirley Garrett of Clarksville, Ohio. Three brother(s); Danny Croley of Williamsburg, KY. Carl Croley of Barbourville, KY. and James Croley of Barbourville, KY.

Erma was preceded in death by Her parents; Joe & Leona Croley, Her Husband; James (Jim) Sutton, Her son; Jimmy Sutton, and Her brother; Billy Croley.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Friday March 28th, 2025 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Rose officiating. The burial will follow at the Croley - Mays Cemetery on Goldens Creek.
