Corbin, Kentucky - James "Jim" Leisenring of Corbin, KY, passed away suddenly on May 10th at Baptist Heath Hospital in Lexington due to heart failure. He was born on January 10, 1945, in Washington, DC. to the late Harry and Helen Leisenring. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Harriet Leisenring and Brother Mitch Leisenring.

Jim was a retired Psychologist and a proud grandpa with countless interests and hobbies that he pursued ardently throughout his life. His most notable and true passion was fly fishing, which began as a young boy fishing rivers in Colorado with his father. Throughout his life he tied thousands of flies, read every conceivable magazine or book on the subject, and traveled the United States fishing rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans for all species of fish that could be caught with a fly rod.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Thomas and husband Brent of Kingsport TN, grandson Seth Thomas of Kingsport TN, sister-in-law Kathy Leisenring of Aiken SC, two nephews Jim Leisenring of Nashville TN and Troy Leisenring of Aiken SC, two great nephews Levi Leisenring of West Columbia SC and Luke Leisenring of Coolidge, AZ, and great-grandniece Ilah Leisenring of West Columbia, SC.

Please join the family on May 24th at 1:00 pm at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Williamsburg, KY to celebrate Jim's life at his service, officiated by Rev. Gerald Mullins. Following the service light refreshments will be served in the church's fellowship hall.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:30pm MT, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Denver Colorado where Jim will be buried with his family.
