Lloyd Callahan, 95, passed away in his home on January 30, 2025. Lloyd was born on April 14, 1929, in Altro, KY. He was the son of the late Culty and Elizabeth Callahan.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma, and their children: Christian, Eric, Payton, and Michelle; four brothers: Jack, Bill, Harold, and Edward; and two sisters: Louise Kennedy and Marge Roberts.

Lloyd leaves behind his wife Betty; his son Patrick (Lisa); stepchildren; Steve Hart (Vicki) and Susan Taylor (Roy); grandchildren: Joshua Callahan, Ashley Shutts, Brittany Lerro, Krisi Anderson, Cally Wood, Kimme Callahan, Clara Callahan, Cole Callahan, Rebekah Lester, Kyle Callahan, Ben Callahan, Katie Callahan, Esther Crabtree, Samuel Callahan, Abbi Fee, Olivia Callahan, Megan Martin, Dakota Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Corey Taylor, Tyler Hart, and Travis Hart; and 27 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive him.

Lloyd's childhood was spent roaming the hills of Eastern Kentucky. He attended high school at Alice Lloyd College from 1943 - 47. He enlisted in the Navy at age 19 and served on the USS Toledo during the Korean War. He then received additional training through the GI Bill in electronics and secured a job with General Electric as an electrician. He eventually was promoted to manager of maintenance. After spending 27 years at GE's Appliance Park in Louisville, he retired on disability due to blindness.

After retirement, Lloyd came to Christ. He also married the former Betty Hart, and moved to her hometown in Corbin, KY, in 1983. For over 40 years they enjoyed together a full life of touring the U.S., gardening, grandchildren, church involvement, and being snowbirds in Florida each winter. Lloyd also spent many hours as an avid student of the Bible. Blessed with excellent health up until this past year, Lloyd spent his convalescent months in his home with Betty, surrounded by family and friends. Lloyd was loved by his family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends, and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Allen Bonnell officiating. Burial followed in Corinth Cemetery.

The family received friends from 1:30 - 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the church.
