Lois Imogene Walker Murphy, age 95, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2022 at Frankfort Regional Hospital in Frankfort, Kentucky where she lived the last years of her life in an assisted living facility.

She was born on June 2, 1926 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late J. Virgil and Arneda Britton Walker.

She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and Cumberland College where she obtained a teaching degree and taught in the Whitley County school system. She was married to her beloved husband of 65 years, James H. Murphy (childhood sweetheart and classmate), and was a longtime member of the Methodist church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; James H. Murphy, brother; William F. Walker, and wife; Sybil Walker, and brother in law; Robert L. Jones Jr.

She's survived by her sisters; Libby Anne Walker Jones, nephew; William Walker Jr., (Debbie) of Rolesoville North Carolina, niece; Susan Walker (Sam) of Big Canoe, GA, and several grand nieces and nephews, special caregiver Maria Patrick, and many family and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be April 27, 2022 from 11:30am-1:00pm at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be April 27, 2022 at 1:00pm at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ric Holladay officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery Davis addition.
