Corbin - Lonnie "Rudy" Carroll, Sr., of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin at the age of 91.

Born November 12, 1933, in North Corbin, he was the son of the late Cecil Carroll and Daymie Poynter Sawyers. In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years. Nancy Bird Carroll, his stepfather, Henry Sawyers, a sister, Cecil Janet Ramsey, and her husband, Maurice "Ham" Ramsey.

Rudy was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, and he was a retired district manager with Kentucky Utilities. A faithful member of Central Baptist Church, he was a former Sunday School teacher and currently a Deacon Emeritus. He and Nancy were avid fans of Corbin Redhound and Kentucky Wildcat athletics.

His surviving family include a son, Lonnie Rudy Carroll, Jr. (Marsha) and a daughter, Belinda Carroll Hamilton (Derek); grandchilldren: Daniel Hamilton (Ana), Bonnie Hamilton, Gabrielle Carroll Rogers (Michael), Lonnie R. Carroll, III, Tiesa Carroll Holloway (Mike), Tasha Ann Carroll, Danielle Carroll Anderegg (William), and Alexis Meredith Carroll; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The Carroll family is most grateful to Carol Mathis for the attention and dedication to Rudy's care during these last two years.

Rudy's visitation will begin at 12 noon Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Central Baptist Church, with his funeral to follow there at 1pm with Rev. Josh Pollitt officiating. Interment will be at McFarland Cemetery in West Corbin.

Memorial donations may be given to Central Baptist Church.
