Maudie Campbell, age 91, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Heritage in Corbin.

Born in Faber, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Claxton and Lola Watson Claxton. Maudie was Baptist by faith and held her membership at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Corbin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Campbell; son, Fred Kirby Campbell Sr.; brothers, Arthur Claxton, Kenneth Claxton, Hardie Claxton, and Arnold Claxton; and by a sister, Retha Goodin.

Maudie is survived by her son, Dennis Campbell and wife Dorothy; daughter-in-law, Annetta Campbell; grandsons, Fred Kirby Campbell Jr., Barry Edwards, and Eric Edwards; great-grandchildren, Michael, John Paul, and Claire Campbell, Gary Sharp, Alex Edwards and wife Jessica, and Angel Edwards; sisters, Mildred Matlock and husband Howard, and Frances Lawson; and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6-8 pm and on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12 noon until 1 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Worley Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
