Whitley County - Wilma Baird, 89, a loving and humble woman, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025 at Baptist Health - Lexington. Wilma lived a full and rich life that was dedicated to her family, friends, and the pursuit of her passion for antiquing, a hobby she nurtured for over 60 years. Her devotion to family and friends was the cornerstone of her life, and her love for them was as enduring as the precious antiques she sought. She was an educator for several years in the Whitley County School District.

Wilma is survived by her children, Teresa Williams and husband Bill of Corbin, KY and Michael Baird and wife Maureen of Williamsburg, KY; her beloved grandchildren, Heather Chadwell and husband Chris of East Bernstadt, KY, Tiffany Potillo and husband Mike of Bradenton, FL, Sarah Newsome and husband Richard, of Scottsdale, AZ. and Brandon Boyd and wife Courtney of Somerset, KY; as well as her precious great-grandchildren Trae Fiedler, Blaine Wyatt, Mason Boyd, Gavin Chadwell, Briley Jo Boyd, Sophie Potillo, Truss Newsome, Rocco Potillo, and Finley Boyd.

She is also survived by her siblings, Bill Perkins and wife Alice of Williamsburg, KY, Archie Perkins of Williamsburg, KY, Roy Perkins and wife Nadine of Williamsburg, KY, Retha Walter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathryn Hoffman and husband John of Winchester, KY, and Patricia Bordes and husband Gerard of Winchester, KY.

She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Baird, her son, David Baird and her siblings, Millard Jr. Perkins, Lewis Ambrose Perkins, Irene Smith, Pauline Perkins, and Loretta Perkins. One sister-in-law Bessie Lou Perkins.

Pallbearers are: Trae Fiedler, Blaine Wyatt, Gavin Chadwell, Mason Boyd, Truss Newsome, Mike Potillo & Rocco Potillo. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Howard Hubbs, Lynn Perkins, John Perkins, Stacy Perkins, Jerry Smith and Eric Walter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:00am at Croley Funeral Home located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, 40769. The funeral service will follow on the same day at 2:00pm with Rev. Tony Jackson and Rev. Ronald Canada officiating.

Burial will be at Youngs Creek Cemetery, West Highway 204, Williamsburg, Kentucky, 40769, at 3:00pm.
